Rainham Steel are delighted to announce that they have become the new official club sponsor of Scunthorpe United Football Club.

The sponsorship, which will see the Rainham Steel logo on the clubs shirts, and is the biggest in the clubs history, commenced on 1st July 2007 for a period of 3 years.

Advertising extensively around premiership grounds, Rainham Steel will also be taking perimeter advertising with Scunthorpe United.

The sponsorship deal is in coupling with Rainham Steel’s continual investment in the local area. Employing around 80 people in Scunthorpe at its 35 acre site, development plans will probably create around another 30 jobs within the next 12 months.

The company feels that the loyalty and commitment of its staff has contributed significantly to its success. Turnover for the year ended March 2002 was £40m and it is anticipated that turnover for the year ended March 2008 will be in excess of £120m.

Rainham Steel Chairman Bill Ives said: "We are both proud and pleased to be involved with Scunthorpe United, especially with their terrific performance in getting promoted to the Coca Cola championship."

Scunthorpe United Chairman Steve Wharton said: "It is fantastic that Scunthorpe United and Rainham Steel have committed themselves for the following three seasons. I am sure both parties will benefit greatly from this sponsorship deal and next season promises to be an exciting one in the Coca Cola Championship.".
